Review: Seducing the Enemy

Seducing the Enemy
by Noelle Adams

Official Summary
:

After being injured in a tragic accident as a child, Marietta Edwards has lived a sheltered life. Finally recovered, she wants to indulge in pleasures that are entirely new to her, so she begins by seducing a sexy, mysterious stranger. Only after their one-night stand does she learn their families have been embroiled in a fifteen-year legal battle and the man she’s given herself to is her worst enemy.

The heir to a vast fortune, Harrison Damon believes the unforgettable night he spent with Marietta in Monte Carlo is just a fling, an escape from his responsibilities. Then he discovers she is an Edwards—the family he despises most. He can’t quench his attraction for her, but he won’t let her use it against him. He won’t let her manipulate him to win money from his family. No matter how much he wants her, he won’t let her seduce him again.

My Summary:

After a slight mix up at a club Etta indulges in a one-night stand with Harry.  Their true selves are revealed the next morning and things spiral from there.

Marietta Edwards is a very safe girl who's still recovering from an accident 15 years ago.

Harrison Damon has a hard time trusting women after being played earlier that year.

My Review:

I immediately connected to Marietta in the book, she has a knack for making the most awkward moments very amusing, and has a very relaxed honest nature.  Marietta also had some struggles that are revealed in the first part of the book which really help you get a sense of who she is.  I didn’t really understand Damon at first with his workaholic attitude and distrust of women, but over the course of the novel he really grew and you fell in love with his character.

I enjoyed the book, it had a lot of quips between Marietta and Harrison that made their discussion more believable and entertaining.  I wish there was more of an epilogue, but that was the only real problem I found with the book that disappointed me, so I hope that means there’s another part to their story.  I’ll probably reread this book in the future because I liked it so much.

I did receive this book as an ARC for an honest review.
