REVIEW: MINE (Real #2)

MINE (REAL #2) by Katy Evans
Published November 5th 2013 by Gallery Books

He's mine, and I'm his. Our love is all-consuming, powerful,
imperfect, and real...

In the international bestseller REAL, the unstoppable bad boy of the Underground fighting circuit finally met his match. Hired to keep him in prime condition, Brooke Dumas unleashed a primal desire in Remington "Riptide" Tate as vital as the air he breathes... and now he can't live without her.

Brooke never imagined she would end up with the man who is every woman's dream, but not all dreams end happily ever after, and just when they need each other the most, she is torn away from his side. Now with distance and darkness between them, the only thing left is to fight for the love of the man she calls MINE.

Get ready for the roller coaster!

The first page and I'm grinning like an idiot. I mean, I missed Remy so effing much... and Brooke and just all the raw sexyness that comes with both of them.
The books starts with a bang. In the middle of a fight, Remy's element. Cue in the screaming girls! And yes, I'm right there in the middle of it.

But is not all rock & roll style. And I'm loving this new comunicative, Remy. He was never a man of many words, but his little gestures made it for Brooke and the reader, you can still understand what he wants to say. But here, here he's saying it! And I'm falling for him all over again. With his vulnerabiity, all that insecurity that seems so wrong on him.

While Real ended up with a happy ending, this one deals with the consecuenses of what they both did, and it's messy.

"You're everything I never knew I wanted"

In a way the roles here get inverted. Remy won't risk Brooke's safety so she stays at home while he fights and the strong Brooke who can handle Remy is gone.
This is the oonly thing I really disliked of this book. Broke seems needy, like she can't live without Remy...
Remy on the other hand seems to somewhat find balance, he tries to stay strong for her even though she isn't there to see it.

All in all Mine is exactly what Katy Evans promised us in Real. She can make you feel the characters emotions. There were some plot twist that I didn't see coming, maybe a bit rushed but Evans can keep the suspense and her characters so focus on the now that you can't help but feel the entire book. The raw nature of her writing is something I fully enjoyed and it that sense I wasn't disapointed at all.

ABOUT KATY EVANS

Katy Evans grew up with books and book-boyfriends until she found a real sexy boyfriend to love. They married and are now hard at work on their own happily ever after. Katy loves her family and friends, and she also loves reading, walking, baking, and being consumed by her characters until she reaches “The End.” Which is, hopefully, only the beginning…
